    Spilunk was only interested in one thing and that was his treasure. To him it was his only friends and he would do anything as long as it meant it didn't share any of it with anyone. When Sonic saved him from a falling rock, he learns he has new friends and helps them to stop Robotnik from getting the treasure for himself.

    Notes Relating to the Character-
    * A couple of times, Sonic refers to him as a Troll. This could be just in the context of an insult or it could be a fact on his race. He looks like a Mole to us and the UK DVD set does refer to him as a Mole-Troll & the UK Sonic Sticker album says he is just 'Mole' (they seam to give that for his name too). So it is a bit unknown what he really is.
