Battle Report – MSAN #2 – B
Okay.. another gap week due to stupidity but oh well. Another not really worth photos sad to say but.. I’m gonna call this one a loss for now. Battle taken place 30th April 2025
David decided to pay attention to the fact that
A) Goblins head to the NEAREST door and
B) limited eye sight.
the Goblins have a perception value of 2. This means they can see 2 squares around them (well, front and sides, they can’t see out the back of their heads). The Goblins are positioned facing each other. this is also helpful.
So, first off, David moved forward towards the light source, moving only 4 squares to keep one stamina behind, just in case.
Goblin numba one (in the upper left room) decided he couldn’t see anything as the door was behind him, so he walked towards his mate and then carried on to the wall. Rolling a right turn, he walked to the room’s corner and turned again to face the darkness. His mate, couldn’t see the door as it was 4 squares away, but with it’s large movement, it was just walking foward then saw it so opened it and walked though. He found, another wall and didn’t have enough movement left to do much anyway.
Now the two in the big room. Numba three decided to just walk forward until he saw a door. He opened it but that used up all his movement. 4th could see the door (Archway) in front of him, so went forward. Came up to a wall, rolled to go right and started off down towards the door which led to David, ending right in front of it. This goblin would turn out to be the bane of David.
Though poor David had a plan! He walked up to the door, opened it and attacked. He was able to push the Gobbo back. He was then able to make it past the door, but had to leave it open, but he was out of Numba two’s perception range.
So, the next Gobbo turn, Numba one did a bit of walking around till he saw the door and moved towards it, ending up right in front of it. Number two couldn’t see anything of note so was dealing with walls and walking and ended up pretty much where he started but now facing the light. BUT the most important part is now, the door he came through was the closest to him and he had no reason to go after the other door.
Number three kept walking, through the door, turning around and heading towards the reinforced target door. Then Number four.. oh dear.. Full of stamina, he attacked David and ended up rolling a 6 which wasn’t defended.. 3 points of endurance lost for David, knocking his health in half.
David then closed the door behind him, hoping to have the two goblins back there wandering around and paying no interest in him. Swinging, David was able to hit the gobbo but not for much damage done at all, however he was able to push the goblin back again, allow David to move one more step forward.
Number One went through the door but ended up heading right for the door that David was behind. Number two just started walking around the small room again. Number three was heading to the archway and Number four was right in front of David. with their dice rolls even (Full strength Goblin with 5, David with his base of 3 + 2 for his remaining stamina, the Gobbo attacked.. and ended up with an undefended 6.. another three points of damage.. and thus ends the saga of David the Gnome. well.. I’m sure there are other gnomes called David ^_^ but yeah.. Gonna decide to call it on this one for now. I think trying to go for pushing the goblins was a good move, though taking a bit of a risk cause if one was behind another in a thin corridor, then no-where to push, but seamed like a fair idea.. just very bad dice rolls.
