When it comes to army collection and playing, you can be dull and just get a figure, paint it and that’s it, or you can build up a theme, have characters and stories. Depending on the situation, you can mix and match what you want.
So here are a list of my Forces and warbands which I’ve done some story work on and that story. If you are interested.. If not, not much point on being here, is there?
Skaven

My kinda main force is my Skaven Army, designed mostly for Warhammer Fantasy Battle 4ed but with 3ed fine too.

My Skaven Army – Slaves of the Skaven
I might have commented on this before but the Skaven Slave regiments are interestingly described. WFB2 (ravening Hordes) just says “Ratmen Slaves are often forced into armies to increase the numbers and soak up casualties.” this could be said to say they are all Skaven in that, or to say they are just Slaves OF…

My Skaven Army – The Screaming Bell
4ed Skaven armies gave two major new additions to the Skaven army compared to what was there before. The War Machines section was upgraded from just Warpfire Throwers and Jezzails, They now have the Doomwheel and the Screaming Bell. I have a Doomwheel in my army which was painted by a family friend years ago,…

My Skaven Army – Lord Skrolk and Rats
Warhammer 4ed pretty much introduced the Pre-made Special characters. I say pretty much because you have had special pre-made characters since atleast 2ed. Scenario packs often came with special characters and rules for them in there, White Dwarf also featured special characters. With the new Army Books that 4ed had for each army (well, kinda),…

My Skaven Army – The Rat Golem
Issue #195 (March 1996) of White Dwarf is a pretty late White Dwarf for me but at the time, Games Workshop was doing what is probably it’s second major wave of ‘board/boxed’ games. The first teamed up with MB to give us Heroquest, Space Crusade and (without MB) Space Hulk. This second wave gave us…

My Skaven Army – Slaves Unit A – Part Two
So. Let’s get back to some of this for now.. Building my first SkavenSlave Unit as a unit which is mixed of Slave Skaven and other races. All use the same statline but rules do say key words that other races aren’t often used (not NEVER) and are mostly skaven (not ONLY). First of the…

My Skaven Army – Assassin
Well, this is a big pose for a small figure. My Skaven army includes a Skaven Assassin. 4Ed defines an Assasin as: The black-clad Assassins of Clan Eshin are rightly feared by those who know of them. They are trained from birth as quick, murderous fighters adept in the use of poisons, garrottes, throwing stars…

My Skaven Army – Clan Rat Unit A
I have a list of what is planned for my Skaven Army, atleast so I have a good size force to choose from if I ever get much chance. And I wanna paint some things ^_^ Among this is of course, a number of Clan Rats. Clan Rats are the basic Skaven infantry unit. Basic…

My Skaven Army – Plague Monk Unit A
Well, with Skaven, you HAVE to have a unit of Plague Monks. I was going to have just one unit but… I’ve got enough figures now that I’m going to have 2 units atleast. Plague monks are the members of Clan Pestilens. The 3ed defines Clan Pestilens as: Clan Pestilens are the unholy disciples of…

My Skaven Army – Slaves Unit A
To my knowledge, Only two armies make use of Slaves in Warhammer Fantasy Battle (3ed-4ed), The Skaven and the Slann/Lizardmen but I would need a bit more research to double check this.. (technically Slann only use Human slaves who have been lobotomised and turn into eunuchs, probably via some old Slann tech.. gee, they kinda…

My Skaven Army – Giant Rats / Wolf Rats
In trying to (slowly) build up my Skaven Army for WFB (4/3) which I had as a child (sigh), I’ve not only gotten some new figures but painted up/repainted or did various bits to build up the forces. I’m not the best at Photos but Oh well. Let’s try to see what I can do.…
Chaos
Created as an Ally Contingent to my Skaven, I used the 3ed WFB ‘Realms of Chaos’ books to randomly generate the group and really enjoyed working on these, so things started to expand
The Empire
Sometimes, you need to have an Enemy to fight against, so since I already had alot of figures, I decided to create an Empire Army to rival my Skaven for WFB 4/3.
Space Wolves
Another force from back when I was young, my Space Wolf army was for Warhammer 40K 2ed though editions for 40K get a bit confusing.. I’ve since tried to dust them off, and sort out what I had, which was mostly very badly painted with alot of arms haven fallen off, and turn it into a respectable force.

Eldar Mercenaries Unit
Kicked out of their craftworlds, large planet ships they live in since the destruction of their home world, for reasons of being disinherited, psychotic, murderous or any number of crimes, or even just being ones who want the taste of adventure among alien races, some Eldar become mercenaries for hire working with the Imperium. Warhammer…
